Our story and our mission:
It is our desire to create a venue where families can evaluate, plan, model, and celebrate a life committed to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We consider our ministry a stepping stone for local churches and the Christian community at large. It is foremost a life pursuit to worship God through Jesus Christ vertically and then to live it horizontally. Our highest life priority is living and sharing Christ locally to impact the world globally! We believe that all of global missions happens at a local level.
Q: Who is Seek First Ministries, Inc.?
A: Seek First Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit Christian ministry committed to the biblical discipleship of Christian families. We are dedicated to come alongside the local church to assist in the discipleship of our homes and communities. It is our strongest conviction that discipleship cannot happen apart from submission to God's Word in our lives (John 17:17). Our local churches will be only as strong as the households that comprise them. This translates into a missional life in Christ where our roles and goals are defined by Him for God's greater glory revealed. It is our desire to be a resource that local churches and the Christian community use to evaluate, engage, and equip the body of Christ to worship and serve God.
Seek First currently maintains a board of directors consisting of several Christian men that serve in various scopes of responsibility in their local churches and business community. The board provides accountability, guidance, and leadership in all matters pertaining to the ministry.
Q: Why was Seek First Ministries formed?
A: God has given us a passion to encourage fellow Christians to develop strong Christian homes that are rooted in Jesus Christ for the purpose of being Christ's ambassadors. It is our greatest hope that God will use this ministry to encourage our Christian community to live our lives for the glory of His name. The formation of Seek First Ministries is a response to this personal calling.
Q: How will Seek First Ministries help build stronger families?
A: We will conduct workshops and develop curriculum that provide opportunities for individuals and families to deepen their relationship with their faith and each other. At the core of all our workshops will be the focus on discipleship—to pursue a missional life that reflects our faith in Christ. These workshops will be primarily organized and coordinated through local churches, with a commitment from the church leadership to play an active role in the workshop and the follow-up. We will also accommodate sessions for smaller groups within the Christian community. As the building blocks of our churches, it is vital that we make our families a high priority within our life ministries. At a most fundamental level, the body of Christ will only be as strong as our families in Christ.
Q: Who is the founder of Seek First Ministries, Inc.?
A: The founder and executive director is Joe Waresak. Joe is married to Sherry and has four children. His professional background includes almost a decade of business management experience that includes multiple professional designations. He has been actively involved in the leadership and coaching of youth and family programs for the past 15 years. His educational background includes a B.S. in Secondary Education and a Master in Ministry from Grace Theological Seminary.
